Shepherdsfield's Joanna Gwynn initiated and facilitated a weekend retreat for women who have been/ or are presently receiving treatment for breast cancer. The weekend was held at the beautifully serene Anapana Ridge. The Springtime Retreat saw thirteen brave women who are undergoing or who have undergone breast cancer treatment attend a twenty four hour getaway in the Perth hills. The program was jam-packed with activities; Perth Makeup Artist Chloe Morien https://www.facebook.com/abrushwithcolour taught the group new skills, two Perth Massage Therapists attended in the evening for the pamper session, an onsite cook provided scrumptious meals, the hot tub was bubbling, speaker Marnie Clarke shared her journey and a garden tea party ended the event. Free time was spent relaxing in the tranquil surroundings. Generous community support enabled us to provide quality, professional services and allowed two women to attend free of charge. Huge thanks also to Anita Gilbert for donating an hours remedial therapy for the fundraising raffle. This is the fourth retreat Shepherdsfield have offered and we look forward to many more events of this kind.http://anapanaridge.com/ in the Perth Hills.
Shepherdsfield has also facilitated men's retreats devoted to strengthening and establishing men in their identity. Guest speakers- Dave Williams http://forerunner.org.au/ and Claude Carrello http://www.c3r.org.au/ have been involved in these retreats.
